Pain is a mere sensation?

Remember covid?

how could we ever forget. The 'plan' was to stay at home and save lives. A good plan but it lead to all sorts of complications. So many people with underlying health problems fell through the cracks in the floorboards. I was one of them. If life had been more normal then perhaps things for me might have been different somehow. My cancer may have been diagnosed sooner? I know of at least three people that died because they got help way too late. I know of many people that suffered serious depression and psychological issues related to lockdown. So many people, me included, were not waving but drowning?

My university friend Steve, who was a former Royal Marine said that pain is a mere sensation. Indeed it is but it is a sensation that ruins your quality of life. You begin to panic thinking that your life is going to be blighted by the sensation that absolutely controls your life. Sometimes you have panic panic attacks related to your situation. You fixate on your pain. No amount of chanting or distraction can make it better. These last few weeks have been awful. You feel isolated in your world of pain. An ethereal world of weariness, absolute fear, and panic. Why panic? Would it help? Okay no it wouldn't but I hope that the hospital procedure that was confirmed yesterday will have some effect? The procedure has an element of risk. That plays on your mind too.

In so many ways this post is not really to garner sympathy. Most people are wrapped up in their own world of pain. It is written to say thay you are not alone. Hopefully things will change. Life is precious and is a fleeting gift. Sometimes anyone who is in constant pain wonders if anyone actually understands the effect it has on you. Probably not. My GP said I had had a horrendous eighteen months. Indeed but only the sufferer knows the true extent of what it is like. So tomorrow is an important day. Move forward with a resolute spirit. In reality you are the master of your destiny, because very few care. Not their fault but they are wrapped up in their wibbly wobbly world of their own.

Many people worry about President Trump. But world peace starts with the inner transformation of the person. Surely that statement would make you want to change their inner self?
